In this production of FENCES I played opposite Yaphet Kotto in what was a drama-filled experience. Curiously, most of the drama took place off-stage and in rehearsals.

I got my Equity card in this production of August Wilson’s FENCES at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park.

The thing I remember most about this scene is the amount of dialogue I had to remember in a very short period of time. Luckily, I am and always have been a super quick study, but the shoot day for this scene changed at the last minute.

The director was looking for honesty from actors coming in to read for this public service announcement. What he expected was genuine emotion and behaviors. Thankfully, his organic process afforded time for actors to acclimate and find the moment required.

First time I ever worked with a newborn baby in a scene. I had certainly worked with kids before this, some as young as 1 or 2 years old, but never a newborn. What I discovered in the process is amazing.

I did ten (10) episodes of the Amazon hit series BOSCH as the Koreatown killer.
